The MME tournament was
held inside Woghorts Castle, a large, boxy building which was once a warehouse
for novelty inhalers, but was repurposed as a convention center and
headquarters of the MME.
The first person Holden
encountered after he had shoved open the stiff revolving glass door was a kind
ginger child.
“Ginger kid, what’s your
name?” asked Holden.
“My name is Dlanor,” said
the boy. “Don’t you remember me?”
Holden immediately
chopped off Dlanor’s head, realizing that this was the same red headed Dlanor
he remembered killing his father.
“Hey kid!” yelled a man
who looked oddly like John Cena in his striped referee outfit. Just Google it
if you want a picture for reference.
“Who, me?” asked Holden.
“Yeah, you! Why did you
just kill that boy?” asked the cool looking man.
“He killed my father,”
replied Holden.
“Oh, well… that’s okay
then. My name is Coach Grumblesnore, and I’m the MME wrestling coach.”
“Cool story bro. I’m
Holden Secretbees, and I’m here to win the MME tournament.”
“Okay Mr. Secretbees, let’s
get you ready for your first match.”
The two of them walked
down a winding corridor, taking a left, a right, hopping up and down three
times. Finally, they climbed a ladder that led to a room containing a magic wrestling
ring.
“Holden, your first
opponent is…”
“Who? Dear lord tell me,
who is my opponent?!” yelled Holden, tears streaming down his caramel colored
face.
“Your opponent is… ME!”
shouted Grumblesnore, withdrawing a wand. Quickly, Holden withdrew his as well.
“Abra Kadabra!” shouted Grumblesnore, and bed bugs flew from the tip of his
wooden stick. They soared across the room, zooming into Holden’s mouth.
Attempting to swallow,
Holden muffled cries of disgust. After a few gulps he had devoured all of the
bugs.
“Eww, that was gross,”
Holden moaned. “Avada kedavra!” Green light erupted from Holden’s wand,
striking Grumblesnore square in the chest. Seconds later, the coach fell to the
ground, dead.
A congratulatory melody played
over a loudspeaker, and a ladder dropped down from the ceiling. A voice congratulated
Holden, and instructed him to climb.
